Project Phoenix, the ambitious crowd-funded JRPG/RTS hybrid from numerous Eastern and Western genre veterans, has nearly managed to secure four times its Kickstarter target in two days.
The promise of a revitalised JRPG experience from triple-A developers (and mainly a soundtrack from the inestimable Nobuo Uetmatsu, let's not kid ourselves) has attracted nearly £380,000 at the time of writing - with 27 days to go.
It's a fantastic start, but you should note that this impressive achievement is partly due to Project Phoenix' goal being incredibly low. I suspect that Creative Intelligence Arts will need several times the capital in order to make good on their vision. Project Phoenix is slated to release in 2015 for PC, with a PS4 version and potential Wii U port being considered. More details here or on Kickstarter itself.
