Slower Than The 3DS, I'm Afraid
Sony's much-hyped - and much-maligned - new portable, the PS Vita, has been available in Japan since December 17th. However, it's launch wasn't quite the resounding success Sony had hoped for. It managed to pull through, despite this initial adversity and stiff competition from rival portable, the 3DS and its less three-dimensional sibling, with Sony now reporting Vita sales have topped the 500, 000 mark.
However, it has taken little over three weeks for the Vita to hit this figure, a feat the 3DS managed in just under two weeks on sale. With the Vita taking three to hit 500, 000, Nintendo's portable took just nine days to claim 584,387. It's not all doom and gloom, however; especially when you consider the Vita is set to launch worldwide next month, which is sure to boost its sales count. [Eurogamer]
