PS3 Essentials Arrive On PSN Today - Get Deus Ex: HR For A Tenner

Sony's PS3 Essentials line, which sees a whole bunch of classic PS3 games hit the PSN Store at a discounted rate, arrive today. There are a bunch of newer titles such as Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood priced at £15.99, with some older games like LBP and the original Uncharted comingg it at £9.99.

Frankly, we rather think it's a little underwhelming, with the complete lack of retail outlay not reflected in pricing for games that have gone considerably lower than this before.

We're not entirely sure how Sony are justifying a £15.99 price point for Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, when Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a tenner.

Hmmm.

The full list is below separated out into the two price brackets:

  • Assassin's Creed 2
  • Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
  • Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
  • Driver: San Francisco
  • James Cameron's Avatar: The Game
  • Prince of Persia
  • Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
  • Sonic Generations
  • Tom Clancy's - Rainbow Six Vegas 2

When I see some of the 15.99 titles it really does make me want to tear what little hair I have left out.

I know not everyone has jumped on the PS+ instant game collection bandwagon. but for the less than the price of Sonic Generations, CoJ Bound in Blood and Medieval Moves you get access to more games and generally better quality games.

Deus Ex, Modnation Racers and the other Sony Titles (Unchartered, etc) are relatively reasonably priced but the 15.99 - they must have been smoking something when they dreamed up those prices.
