Hit The Ground Running
I was once a very big Need for Speed fan back in the Underground days, but sadly the last NFS game I enjoyed was Most Wanted, and that was a while back. However, the series has showed considerable resilience, shifting solid units year on year. The upcoming entry, The Run, looks set to be an explosive landmark in the series' history, what with its Battlefield 3 engine and Michael Bay collaborations. And if you're picking it up on PS3, you'll be happy to hear your version of The Run boasts seven exclusive super cars.
First up, the Lexus LFA. Packing a 4.8L V10 engine in conjunction with its sleek carbon fiber frame, the LFA is capable of plus-200 MPH speeds. In fact, the LFA is so fast - it can transition from idle to redlining in 0.6 seconds - it necessitates a digital speed readout as the traditional needle wasn't fast enough!
Next up, the Porsche Carrera GT. A class, the Carrera GT's production ran from 2004 to 2006 and was originally intended for endurance racing, hence the 15-inch brakes and automatic spoiler that adjusts above 70 MPH. Such was Porsche's impeccable design, even the sound of its dual exhaust pipes are good.
Rounding off the seven car list is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Hennessey Venom GT, GUMPERT Apollo s, Lamborghini Countach QV5000, and the Koenigsegg Agera . That's a lot of automobile muscle for PS3 fans to look forward to. Keep your eyes peeled. [PS Blog]
