Its one thing I really like about Sony, that they keep investing and improving, to try and keep their consoles in the market. Not sure why other manufacturers dont follow this style.

No wireless capabilities built in?

@gmdlogan: Don't worry: "IEEE 802.11 b/g"

@RiKx: We always credit - and you were all over this story! Both you and ODB got in touch to bring this to our attention, so it's only fair that you get some mad props. :D

Oh, so they've still not decided to put 802.11n in?

Thats what I love about Sony, always 'investing and improving'. LOL

Always 'Investing and improving' - yes, by removing backwards compatibility. And removing the flash card reader. And removing the extra USB ports. And removing the linux/alternate OS functionality.

The only thing thats surprised me about the new PS3 super slim is that they've not found something else that they can remove yet.

Urgh at that top-loading dvd tray.
(IGN unboxing)

Quite a handsome machine, tbh, until I saw that in operation...

Soooo.....
Pay £200 for a ps3, or £300 for a wii U?
It's a no brainer, really.
I'll wait a year, keep my money, and see what Sony and Microsoft announce in the interim. ;)

BTW the 500gb model is only £214.99 at Zavvi at the moment (or cheaper still if you have a code). Credit to dealsideofthemoon on hukd. Details/discussion

well obviously things have to go to reduce the weight/cost and all those things are ancillary, if they ditched the HDD or removed the HDMI port that would be stupid. What I'm saying is that they are still investing in the current generation, they dont have to make new models, but at least the newer generation are quieter and use less power, so not all bad.
