PS4: The Last of Us Remastered emerges accidentally, but will you buy it?

Sony accidentally let slip that The Last of Us Remastered is A Thing that's coming to PS4.

A banner advertisement for a revamped PS4 version of Naughty Dog's survival-horror epic appeared on the US Sony Entertainment Network website (via NeoGAF), boasting a $59.99 price tag.

It's got a nice Day 1 Digital release badge as well, from which we can infer that there'll be a physical version of the game too.

Sony aren't commenting for the moment, though VG247 suggests reports point to a June release, but one wonders exactly what sort of treatment the game will receive to make it worth a full-price re-release. Obviously the DLC will be included, and we bet Naughty Dog will certainly give what was already a strikingly pretty game on the PS3 a graphical tune-up.

It'll only be a year on from the original's release if the reports are accurate, but we lapped up Lara's re-emergence in Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and I'm pretty sure that TLOU PS4 will sell like hot cakes. It's not like there's much else to buy on the platform right now.

Makes perfect sense. Anyone who made the leap directly from 360 to PS4 owes it to themselves to buy it. In my case, I want to play Left Behind but would rather do it on my shiny new console rather than re-buy the long-since-traded PS3 version

Didn't enjoy this game, sadly. Felt very repetitive, and found the controls a little too out of my control.

Never had a PS3 so will be happy to pick this up on PS4.

Brilliant news!

I was so gutted seeing this after I sold my PS3, and now I'll be able to play it on PS4!

Is it also bad that I hated the ending? :s

You are not alone in this. The action-heavy idiocy that preceded it was clunky and unnecessary too.

I liked TLOU for the most part, and it's a very well put together game. But the way some people talk about it, you'd think it was the sodding Second Coming.

And I could say the same about Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite :P Different strokes for different folks, I guess, but I really enjoyed TLOU and felt the controls were in keeping with the tone of the world the game was set in.

Frankly, if I had a PS4 I'd almost certainly get this Remastered edition for the multiplayer alone. Playing through the game again would just be an added bonus.

The ending was terrible to be fair, and will remain so with this release. At they have a chance to fix the other terrible thing about the game - the trophy list!
