What's with the Guacamelee 360 link?

Only just got round to playing Max this last week, and enjoyed it.

What's with the Guacamelee 360 link?

According to the 'Overview' box, it isn't released until July 2nd

JonLester  Jul. 1, 2014 at 12:40

Hmm, looks like Guacamelee is out tomorrow on both platforms (confirmed by Major Nelson), we've had some mixed messaging. I've updated the PSA, for now, I guess you can go grab Gotham City Impostors.

I meant is it in GWG now?
The article kinda indicates it is, and perhaps it is - or maybe you were only providing a link for people who want to buy it on the 360.

I thought it was only free on the One, and the only games free on the 360 this month were Gotham (first half month) and BattleBlock Theater (second half month).

My bad for the confusion - I was ridiculously vague!

@Late: Ah, I see your point. And it's a good one!

The final answer is... no, it's not going to be a GWG on Xbox 360, just Xbox One. I've removed the link.

Am I missing something?

We were supposed to be getting two games a month on XBO. This is one, max was already on last month.

Late  Jul. 2, 2014 at 12:56

Yeah, apparently the small print says we'll be getting two games every month, at least one of which will be new to GWG.
So next month you can assume we'll get one new game, plus either Guacamelee will stay on for a second month or we'll see Spartan Assault return after it's one month absence.
Quite ridiculous.

Anarchist  Jul. 3, 2014 at 10:57

What an utter con, didn't see that small print. They try to have the PS+ beating headline of two free games a month, but literally deliver just one...

Ah well. Better than none. Although the ryse special offer isn't better than no special offer really, still miles cheaper on disc...

Late  Jul. 3, 2014 at 11:39

I think the Ryse deal probably ended yesterday. I wasn't much tempted.
Yesterday they switched "Deals With Gold" to 40% off Thief.

As with Ryse, I wouldn't really recommend it, unless you're mad-keen to own it. Digitally. That deal brings the price to £24, which is probably what it should cost ordinarily on the digital marketplace. You can get it for about that price new, physical, and cheaper second hand of course - and whilst it's not exactly an awful game it's definitely a disappointment.
