PSA: Journey Is Out Today! Play It And Tell Us What You Think!

Quite a personal little public service announcement, this. Thatgamecompany's latest and greatest is finally available today here in the UK, and all of you PS3 owners out there should go and buy it...and then tell us what you thought.

If you're tired of faceless shooters, if you're despairing at the thought of hacking your way through swarms of minions, if you're bored of beating things up, this might just be the antidote.

It's a sunny day, let some sunshine into your gaming life with Journey, and then please, please, let us know what you make of it. We'd love to hear about it.

Here's what we said in our Journey review:

"Like the finest feel-good films, or those books you read again and again until the title on the spine is illegible from creasing, Journey is a game that exhibits pure joy. It plays with it, subverts it, threatens to take it away at times, but the end result is something inherently euphoric, deeply personal and, dare I say, even a little bit spiritual as well."

Your turn.

It is a very good game and worth every penny BUT i still love and play big budget games like FFXIII-2 or whatever is floating around right now.
Those artsy game are nice and great but i hope we won't get flooded with them in the future.

Like a good cake, once a month is amazing. Every day cake and it sucks after a week.

And for shameless self promotion check out my channel for the full playthrough.

WRONG! The more cake, the better.

Yeah, played through the first area and I like it. So far so good, but sadly I have work to do (and cake to eat).

Got a few hours through this last night. I have to say that at times i start thinking thing is going to get boring and then it changes and it's fun again. There have been many moments when I was sat with a massive grin on my face playing this, it is so unique.

The graphics, which not technically groundbreaking, are amazing to look at. I love the look and feel of the game.

I love the multiplayer intercation in this game... for anyone else playing this who has played Spore, does the circle button remind you of the sing command in Spore?

As Matt said in his interview, it is better that you go in to this game not knowing much / anything about it.

I would love to chat openly about the stuff I have seen and done in this, but I would not want to ruin it for anyone.

This is a welcome break from the usual formula of games.

Depends on the cake. I don't want a million games just like Journey, it would make it less special, you're right. Be we could certainly stand to do with more developers thinking outside of the box to a greater extent, and really exploring the possibilities of interactive experience.

@DBZ: I know what you mean about the possibility of it getting boring, but it's almost perfectly self contained and well paced in that respect. Just as you've exhausted the beauty of one area, another opens up, and on you go.

But because you have such a simple objective, and because of the limits in terms of physical interaction with the world around, it encourages you to stop and look around, and just drink it all in.
