PSN Sale Roundup [PS3 Games]

Sony has slashed the prices of over a dozen games on the Playstation Network. Some of the deals are less impressive than others, but there are some serious savings to be made here. These offers expire on the 4th of March.

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 2 £5.49 (£11.99)
  • Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD £5.49 (£11.99)
  • Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood - Old West Map Pack £3.99 (£7.99)
  • Tom Clancy's End War Faction Elite Pack £1.59 (£3.19)
  • Shaun White Snowboarding The Glamour Pack £2.39(£3.99)
  • Brothers In Arms D-Day (PSP) £7.99 (£15.99)
  • Prince of Persia: Revelations (PSP) £7.99 (£15.99)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (PSP) £7.99 (£15.99)
  • Lilo and Stitch: Trouble in Paradise (PSone) £3.19 (£3.99)
  • Bug's Life (PSone) £3.19 (£3.99)
  • Tetris £3.49 (£3.99)
  • Sudoku £3.49 (£3.99)
  • Bowling 3D £3.49 (£3.99)
  • Yetisports Pengu Throw £1.74 (£2.49)
  • Red Bull X-Fighters £3.49 (£3.99)
  • Let's Golf £2.49 (£3.99)
  • Stand O'Food £3.49 (£3.99)
  • Spot the Differences £1.24 (£2.49)

The major bargain to be snaffled up is Marvel vs Capcom 2, which is generally reckoned to be one of the finest 2D fighting games ever made. It's certainly the beat-em-up of choice for most connoisseurs thanks to the deep combo system and tag-team gameplay... not to mention the fact that you can reenact your deepest Marvel fantasies with the enormous cast of beloved characters.

This is also a perfect time for fans to pick up DLC for Endwar, Shawn White Snowboarding and Call of Juarez. The Faction Elite pack for Endwar is a fairly handy piece of content that adds a handful of new units and upgrades to each playable faction, but only hardcore players will really make the most of these DLC packs.

Sony has also updated the Playstation Network with a whole mess of new content including new content for Assassin's Creed 2 and Resident Evil 5, as well as a playable demo for Yakuza 3. Gentlemen, start your downloading!

Price on SF2 is excellent - been wanting to download it for a while now but couldnt justify spending over a tenner. A fiver is much more my style:D

think i'll get SF2, am downloading burnout complete game (game + all downloads) for £23.99 & will sell my disc version of it.

BUT the problem i've got is yet again PSP game prices! socom 3 is £24.99 but £17.99 at game collection! even worse is half minute hero! £23.99!!! WTF?! its £12.99 at hmv & the MOST expensive i can find it is at game for £17.99!

both these games i really wanted, but now guess i'll get the disc versions for my psp slim & pay £30 instead of £49. maybe with the £19 saving i'll get a duster for my pspgo?

Agree, they really need to fix it to be competitive with the retail versions

Not sure how true it is, but I read that Sony agreed with retailers not to sell games that can be sold as physical copies lower than the RRP for the most part. Otherwise retailers have said they won't stock any games.

However, this makes no sense from a customer perspective since who would pay the same or more for a download when they can get a physical copy cheaper, with the option to sell it on once completed.

Not sure why Sony have failed to grasp that downloads should be cheaper than physical copies of movies and games. Seems totally bizarre to me.

Yeah there is probably some sort of retail aspect to it, but certainly without resale or exchange option its not worth doing. But the exchange system could work perhaps...

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! well actually the way the PSP gaming pricing goes its totaly believable!

the price has gone up for socom! its £23.99 to buy on the PSN.....BUT!!! if you want to play online you have to buy a code for £7.99!!! something that is FREE on the back of the physical manual that you get when you buy the physical UMD game for £17.99!!!

so 2 games i wanted (socom & half minute hero) are £57 to download OR £30 to buy physically!

HHMMMMMM maybe i should get rid of my pspgo while i do that (even though i love it, it seems sony dont!)

the go does look sweet but I think I will have to wait for the psp2, if such a thing will happen. What I would like Sony to do is let me remote play ps3 games from the psp.
