PWNCAST: 25th Episode!

MattGardner |  Aug. 6, 2012 at 21:12

We're heading towards the end of season one, and our 25th PWNCAST episode is just around the corner! For the last couple of weeks we've been asking for your input - questions to put to the staff, requests for topics of conversation, suggestions for what you'd like to see us enact/chat about/sing/dance/do.

We've had a few roll in to the inbox (a Jon Lester mega rant, a Just A Minute-style section judged by listeners, a Max Payne 3 competition, a Never Mind the Buzzcocks-esque Guess the Game Theme, favourite games from the 90s) but WE NEED MORE!!

We're going to be recording this thing Thursday/Friday, so if you have something you'd like to toss into the hat, get involved now!

The Guess the Game Theme idea could be good. I think you'd have to use fairly recognisable things though. How about a mini Would I Lie to you section where one person reveals an embarrassing gaming-related fact/anecdote and the other two have to work out if it's the truth or a lie?

How about discussing the reason you have for gaming? The wow moment or wow factor that started it off? As well as the high moments of gaming and low moments in your own lives?

I think the podcasts work best when you guys have an overall theme. The last couple have been great! I'd love it if you did a Nintendo themed episode (you owe it to us for crowning the PS2 over the SNES! :-p ), the wow factor idea is good as well - benchmark games. Genre specific podcasts could be good...you guys all seem to be RPG fans. Or Space games perhaps? An episode on forgotten genres could be good.

Please also feel free to ask us direct questions about our articles, opinions, the industry or what we do. We'll answer them as candidly as we can, within reason.

I'm not suggesting that we should play truth or dare on air. Am I? No. Maybe. Definitely not.

Thanks for the suggestions folks! We had a few come into the email account too. We did try the gameshow-esque idea, but that went...interestingly. In the end we settled on incorporating both Shadowmancer and ODB's suggestions into a fat podcast that spends half the time waxing lyrical about our favourite gaming moments and the other half looking towards the future.

There is a big fat Jon Lester patented rant in there too. It's delicious.

Tune in on Sunday afternoon to check it out. Perfect for a post-roast, can't move scenario.
