PWNCAST | Season 1: Episode 5 - Overheard At GDC

It's PWNCAST day, folks! This week we gush about Journey, rip Syndicate a new one, discuss the big GDC debate surrounding modern Japanese games, take a look at the Kara traiiler, and ask if Peter Molyneux is better off without Microsoft breathing down his neck. It's the usual mish-mash of industry insight, witty (and not-so-witty) banter, sexy fun times, and we have another competition in store for you.

Yes, that's right, we found an extra Xbox 360 copy of Mass Effect 3 floating around after our Tiwtter party earlier this week. So listen in to the podcast to find out how you could be in with a chance of winning.

NB. The competition will close at noon on Thursday 15th March.

PWNCAST | Season 1: Episode 5 - Recorded: March 9th, 2012

Topics include:

  • Unit 13
  • Journey
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Syndicate
  • Inafune vs. Modern Japanese development
  • That Kara trailer
  • Molyneux's departure

...and much more!

Parental Advisory: We've tried to keep it as conversational and informal as possible and you should be warned that there may be some few instances of strong language.

I Love Mass Effect because it lets me mess around in space for months on end, exploring new worlds and bedding strange looking creatures. Sexy space filth.

I love Mass Effect because of FemShep.

I love Mass Effect, but most of all I love the characters. While playing ME 1 and 2 I'd find myself telling my friends stories about my ME "friends", like how awkwardly cute Garrus had been when I started "flirting" with him X) (femShep), as if they where real people. of course my non-gamer friends thought I was crazy but ME is the first game I played where it felt like the characters were "real".

I love Mass Effect because it contains no (ZERO) ducks ^^.

I love Mass Effect for reasons too random and arbitrary to mention.

:P

The grand scale and high tension of the plot is what makes Mass Effect one of my favourite games (the feeling of my first conversation with Vigil in Mass Effect 1 will always be with me), it's easy to get emotionally involved in the scenarios that play out; but I try not to get too wound up, after all, T'Soni a game.

I love Mass Effect 'cos it makes hot females throw themselves at me....oh, hang on, that's the Lynx effect! But playing Mass Effect as Commander Shepherd makes hot alien females throw themselves at me :)

I love Mass Effect because George Lucas has zero involvement in it.

I love Mass Effect because I could kill everyone off in it.

I'm evil.
