PWNCAST | Season 2: Episode 11 – Plotting Mishaps

This week's podcast is all about how story can negatively impact a game. We look at Far Cry 3's successful incorporation of a relatively gripping plot into an open world game, and ask how IO Interactive managed to take an exemplary franchise in Hitman and scupper the series with a latest instalment that focused too heavily on a needlessly over-involved narrative. We look at other games that have been lessened by poor storytelling and ask why developers feel the need to focus on story, even when it doesn't make sense in terms of gameplay.
