RAGE is less than a month from release, and id Software has released a new trailer that gives players a first glimpse into its mysterious cooperative mode. Two players will have to team up to complete their objectives and brutalise bandits with extreme prejudiced, aptly illustrated by this latest video that tasks the team with pushing back a Shrouded Clan invasion of Wellspring. RAGE will be the first title to use id Tech 5, the new engine from legendary graphical guru John Carmack and his team. Naturally PC gamers will want to make sure that their rigs can handle it, and Bethesda has now officially revealed the minimum and recommended system requirements a month in advance.
You'll need a whopping 25GB of hard disc space, but otherwise, the specs are surprisingly comfortable. This is probably due to id Software's 'Megatexture' compression technology that allows the engine to render incredibly detailed textures with little impact on performance.Click here for the specifications >>
We're all pretty excited for RAGE here at Dealspwn, but no-one is more excited than developers id Software, whose five year labor of love is finally nearing release. The studio has a rich legacy in the first-person shooter department, having essentially created the genre itself with the first Doom game. id Software is keen on reminding us they invented the deathmatch mode in multiplayer; but that doesn't mean they'll simply follow this well-worn path with RAGE, their upcoming post-apocalyptic shooter.
