Rambo: The Video Game Finally Reveals Some Gameplay Footage

(But Arguably Shouldn't Have)

Every once in a while, a videogame trailer comes out of nowhere like a bolt from the blue; generating a huge amount of excitement and lighting the world on fire in a perfect publicity storm.

I'm not convinced that this is one of those times. Rambo: The Video Game is out next year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360; developed by Teyon and published by Reef Entertainment.

Out of interest, can anyone explain what happens at 0:47? Those guys just... explode. Somehow.

Those character models wouldn't look out of place in Team America: The Game

As for 0.47, I assume there's some kind of stealth mechanic where you can shove C4 down a sleeping enemy's throat and remotely detonate it at a later time

0:47 Rambo shoots out the truck and the explosion kills the dudes.

Pretty standard game mechanic.

Done wrong.

Looks stupid.

0:28 - f*** this building in particular!

Includes the first three films but not the fourth?
I'm out.

Are you sure, because that trailer suggests to me that your left mouse button will be free to assign however you like as your character actually spends the whole time shooting.

It's a promising glimpse of the future of gaming, all in all.
One of these images is from a game coming out in 2014, the other is from the 1982 film.
Scarily hard to tell which is which, isn't it.
(Sorry - I'm not going to give you any clues!)

I had to grab that screenie directly from the video, btw, rather than from their
website. The one they tell you to go to at the end of the video:
http://www.rambothevideogame.com
Which doesn't exist.
(I guess they meant http://www.rambovideogame.com Worrying when the marketing
people don't know their product's web address... :| )

Works for me!

Maybe they saw your post here on Dealspwn and realised they needed to activate it!

Odd. I get a "123-reg" holding place on Chrome.

Just tried IE and I get a blank page.
WHOIS shows the page is owned by Reef Entertainment.

I'll never understand computers.

If they have a long TTL on their DNS it might take a day to show up if it has only just gone up. Did you see when it was registered?

Or, do you proxy through China?

Looks like there was an update today
domaintools
I guess that was the first update.
No proxy used here. (UK, talktalk.)

Late, someone is messing with your interwebs, perhaps the gaming gods are protecting your eyes from further abominations.

This is what I see:

Speaks volumes that I'm more interested in how/why websites work than I am in the game.

stevenjameshyde  Nov. 6, 2013 at 15:44

On topic... the 'related articles' reminded me of the magnificent pre-order offer for this game. I never realised that the figurine would be an accurate rendering of the in-game character
