The Wii U's launch lineup took a hit today with the announcement that anticipated platformer Rayman Legends will be pushed back into Spring 2013.
“Rayman Legends will launch worldwide in the first quarter of 2013,” a Ubisoft spokesperson told MCV. "We’re happy that fans are excited about the game, and we are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations. We’ll have more details to share soon.”
It's galling news for pre-order customers (myself included, I hasten to add), but perhaps it's the right decision. Rayman Origins was almost drowned in the AAA glut that released last holiday season, and only made a dent in the charts at the beginning of this year. Releasing it with some breathing space might be the way forward.
