Ready 2 Rumble Revolution £3.99 @ Play [Wii Games]

If you prefer your one-on-one combat to have a comedy edge to it, think Celebrity Deathmatch rather than hardcore UFC showdowns, then you might want to give Ready 2 Rumble Revolution a try.

Play have brought their price for the game down to £3.99, which'll make you a saving of exactly £6 on the next best offer of £9.99 coming in from Games Centre.

Playing fighting titles on the Wii really exploits the console's motion controls and pulls you in a lot more than the standard button pushing you have to go through on the other consoles. You get to stand up, move around, duck to avoid punches, and frantically throw your arms around to try and land a punch on your opponent, all from the safety of your living room. Wii Sports Boxing is great fun and it's also probably the most physically demanding game that I've played on the Wii so far. As a result you'd expect other fighting games to build on this experience and provide you with something special. Unfortunately, this isn't the case with Ready 2 Rumble Revolution.

Yes the game does have a decent variety of punches, blocks, weaves, and the chance to counter your opponent if your timing's spot on. However, everything is controlled by the temperamental motion controls the developers added in, which whilst working well in fairly simple titles, kills any enjoyment you might have been able to have with the game. As a result of the controls Ready 2 Rumble Revolution quickly enters into the dark realm of fighting games, as it becomes increasingly frustrating to play and may well possibly end in the destruction of your controller in a fit of rage.

Having said all that, £3.99 isn't really much in the grand scheme of things.
