I think it might be physically impossible to play Red Dead Redemption without having a good time. I have never been much of a fan of Rockstar games, enjoying the initial novelty and thrill of titles such as GTA4 but quickly growing bored of what felt, to me, like cookie cutter missions. But, while RDR is obviously very easy to compare to GTA, those earlier titles feel somehow empty in comparison (despite Red Dead's sparse and barren landscape). It has the huge sandbox world to explore, which offers an absolutely huge scope for gameplay, but its story and setting are just as impressive (and it has some of the most entertaining bugs you're ever likely to see!). If you don't add this title to your collection then you're really just cheating yourself. Thanks to BoomerKuwanger at Hotukdeals!

It's a very good price at this price - I managed to cheekily pluck a copy of this game however off Play.com @ £15 second hand. £30, however, new is a very fair price for this excellent game.

The graphics, storyline are very similar to GTA - however, the game play is superior in my opinion.

Good concept, poor execution. Overrated and over hyped almost as much as GTA4 but just as big a disappointment. Belongs in a bargain bucket for a tenner at most. If you're still playing this after three days without being bored, you should consider yourself slightly retarded.

Yet it's still actually holding its value really well.
