Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare | £9.99 | Games Basement | Xbox 360

It's no secret that I'm a massive fan of Red Dead Redemption, but there are times when you're having a bit of mess around across the wind swept plains, hunting wild boar or outlaws, that you think to yourself "How can I spice this up a little bit?" Well, the answer's pretty simple, saddle up and get yourself over to Games Basement's website, where you can grab the Undead Nighmare expansion pack for almost a fiver cheaper than the next best price, which isn't bad considering you'll be rewarded with an ample injection of zombies!

...The same Games Basement that is no longer accepted as a merchant at HotUKDeals due to the many disgruntled customers with unfulfilled orders that can be found using your favourite web search engine (me included)?

...for the purpose of clarity; I am not a web search engine... I am a customer that had to cancelled a order of several items when none could be delivered even though they were advertised as in stock & available within either 24 or 48 hours time. Even after exchanges of e-mail & reassurances that one item was in stock it was still not despatched two weeks later.

...or even "cancel an order" :)

Either way, avoid unless you like wasting your time trying to contact this shambles of an organisation that never seem to answer their telephone & give false hope of delivery dates that are subsequently never achieved.

Fanpages, shut up whinging. My copy has already been dispatched.

ODB  Apr. 7, 2011 at 09:22

So you think.....

If its not accepted on HUKD it shouldnt be accepted here either tbh

Shut up fanpages  Apr. 7, 2011 at 12:11

So I think? So I know, considering that my copy showed up this morning :)

Can't honestly fault them thus far. First order with them, was due 3-5 days with free delivery...

ODB  Apr. 7, 2011 at 13:16

What so you received it next day? Unusual...only company that does that is Shopto?!

Either way...if they are banned on HUKD they should be banned here!

Yep, ordered yesterday afternoon at 13:18 and it was here today. It was posted first class, no recorded or anything. Obviously it's 50/50 as to whether first class actually arrives next day, but it did in this case and I'm very much satisfied with GamesBasment based on this transaction. I'll be wary based on what I've read here, but at present I don't see a reason to avoid this deal :)

Guess who?  Apr. 7, 2011 at 13:38

I was just about to make a joke about you being a web-based search engine, and also poke fun at you for incorrectly using the past (instead of past perfect) tense verb in your amendment - you got there before I managed to. :)

I forgot to say- thanks for this Dealspwn!!! Wouldn't have known about it otherwise...

@Shut up fanpages:

Do you have a shipping note or anything like that to confirm you actually did get the game. Like Fan pages and a lot of other people on HUKD, I've had a VERY bad experience with GamesBasement.

About 2 years ago when the Turtle Beach X41 headset was released, GB was the only retailer CLAIMING to have stock - the truth was they infact did not, they charged me at the point of order rather than dispatch, ignored all my attempts to contact them and only got my money back after opening a case with my bank which took an extra month to resolve.

I will certainly be avoiding this company again until I have a VERY good reason to do otherwise.

Shut up fanpages  Apr. 8, 2011 at 12:06

lol, the good old 'proof' requests...

It does say that 0 have been shipped and 1 still remains to ship, but that's irrelevant really since the game was there :D

To be fair, your problem was two years ago.

fanpages  Apr. 20, 2011 at 10:30

...and to be fair that is just one order from many unfulfilled ones.

Perhaps you were their only order in the last month.

Perhaps you have a vested interest in the organisation & are trying to recoup the loss of business this year.

I am glad you received your order in any respect.

All those still trying to claim refunds & are getting more irate at not being able to contact Games Basement or receive responses by e-mail 48 hours later (that do not address any points raised) may be pleased for you as well.

Those that were ordering with the hope of their items being delivered as advertised are happy for you too.

Those that did not have to threaten Games Basement with legal action or contact their credit card providers/banks before they received a refund are also wishing they were you.

Most of us are just going to avoid using the retailer ever again.

It's ok FP. After consideration Games Basement has been struck from our Gamebase listings and shall no longer be featured onsite.

Thanks for your reply, Matt.
