Wii launch title Red Steel has come right down in price – to fit its highly unimpressive reception.
Play.com are now selling it for a paltry £6.95, almost £3 off the next best price.
Don't forget you can take off an extra 10% if you are a student.
You play as Scott, a quiet chap who could really do with a personality implant, who is about to play meet the Father-in-Law in a hotel with his fiancée when he discovers that the staff are not quite what they seem. It turns out that Daddy is a Yakuza boss and not everyone wants to be his pal.
Red Steel was released with fanfare, as the adult title for the Wii's launch with motion sensitive controls, but garnered a very lukewarm reception. A first person shooter with swords - what could possibly go wrong? Sadly the game feels extremely clunky and awkward to play at times, which really dampens the fun. The graphics didn't look too shoddy when the game was launched but already the visuals appear rather outdated and there are bugs a-plenty. The story is very underwhelming and unlikely to capture your imagination or even hold your attention for long and the dialogue will probably see you cringing time after time.
There are fun elements to the game and some people really love Red Steel so it may be worth a try but maybe you'd be better waiting to see if it turns up in the bargain bin of your local supermarket for £3.
