First Screenshot & Info On Dreamfall Chapters Included
We’ve been waiting patiently for more information to appear since Ragnar Tørnquist announced the forming of Red Thread Games along with the development of Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey last year, but we now have a few tidbits to go over thanks to the launching of the official Red Thread Games website. The first is fairly obvious – the screenshot above. The “early work-in-progress screenshot” shows off the streets of Marcuria, one of the major locations from the previous two instalments in the series.
In the latest post on the official website, it is explained that this is a screenshot of the streets of the capital city “in the autumn”, and while its predecessor Dreamfall was set in just the winter season, Dreamfall Chapters will take place over “all the seasons.” The post also teases that the game takes place “some time after the end of Dreamfall, and things have changed. How they've changed, we're not revealing quite yet.” We can also expect the street life to go far beyond that seen in Dreamfall, according to the post.
That’s all we have for now. We expect we will get even more information on the upcoming project when Red Thread Games begins its Kickstarter campaign, but they promise to keep the information coming in the meantime. As we reported last year, the project is being headed by The Longest Journey creator Ragnar Tørnquist, who has arranged a licensing agreement with IP owners Funcom to developer the adventure title. Be sure to head over to the official website to learn more about the Oslo-based developer, and we'll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more.
