REMINDER: PSN Offline From This Afternoon For Maintenance

A quick reminder for you all that the PSN is to undergo essential network maintenance this after noon. Login will be disabled from 16:30 BST until 07:00 tomorrow morning, although you should remain signed into the service if you logged on beforehand. Some PSN services will not be operational during this time, however, including access to the following:

  • PlayStation Store on PS3 and PSP.
  • PlayStation Network Account Management.
  • PlayStation Network Account Registration.

Perhaps worryingly, there's no mention of a concrete return for the Playstation Store, although Sony have stated that it should be back in business by the end of the week.

'We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love,' said Kaz Hirai, Sony's Executive DP. 'We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time.'

More as we know it.

The Store is back, if at least a bit buggy. Plenty to snag too.
