Playstation Mag Outs Bungie's Activision Title
We've long wondered what Bungie and Activision's first collaboration would shape up like. Would Activision task their new studio with taking on former compatriots Microsoft with a direct Halo FPS competitor? Not likely; Bungie's too ambitious to tread the same ground twice. No, rumors have suggested that Bungie have grand plans in store for their first title since leaving Microsoft, and it appears talk of an MMO has been right on point, with a Playstation magazine of all outlets leaking the news in their upcoming November issue.
Confirming rumours we reported way back in May, Bungie's next game is indeed called Destiny. Described as a "faction-based MMOG", in line with Bungie's talk of a game growing beyond the developers scope. The factions appear to be titled 'Seven Seraphs', 'New Monarchy', 'Osiris' and 'Dead Orbit'. Keen Bungie followers will remember rumblings that Bungie had trademarked those names, which was erroneously reported as considerations for the game's title.
Furthermore, the internet was abuzz with chatter when Bungie employees turned up at the Penny Arcade Expo last Summer, wearing shirts bearing mysterious logos. Were these logos in fact emblems for each of the above factions, with Bungie prematurely inciting rivalry among fans for which logo they liked most.
It'll all become clear soon, but until then let's declare early loyalty, shall we? Me, I think I'll plump for 'Seven Seraphs'; Bungie love seven, so they're bound to be the best! [Sillegamer]
