Report: David O. Russell Leaves Uncharted Movie, Casting 'Likely To Start From Scratch'

Browncoats rejoice! Variety reports that David O. Russell, director of The Fighter, has quit the development of the Uncharted movie, citing creative differences with franchise owner Sony as the reason for departure. Insiders have allegedly told Variety that the split was perfectly amicable, although we imagine the death threats coming from fans were probably received less favourably.

The film, slated to star Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake, has now gone back to the drawing board, with Variety prophesying that 'with a new writer and director coming on board, casting will likely start from scratch'. Could be good news for a certain Mr. Fillion. [via Joystiq]

Lets hope casting is redone, lets go back to the actor that would be much more fitting to the role - Hugh Jackman - Nolan North himself said he could see Hugh playing Drake.
