THQ Expects Better Visuals On Nintendo's Console
Here we go again. Please, Nintendo; just release a concrete list of the Wii U's graphical capabilities and put this issue to rest. That said, all signs point to Nintendo's new console boasting superior graphical prowess to its Microsoft and Sony counterparts, with an anonymous THQ source revealing to Fedwars that the publisher expects the likes of Darksiders 2 and Metro Last Light to look better on the Wii U.
"I'm sure the Wii U versions of Darksiders 2 and Metro Last Light will be superior to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions," the source told Fedwars. However, while the source appears confident of this, he later goes on to say that the Wii U is "full of potential as far as specs go", suggesting THQ have yet to receive final dev kits with a realistic approximation of its power.
"In a way, buying the Wii U version over the 360/PS3 versions, will be like buying the Blu-Ray version of a movie instead of the standard DVD version," the source goes on to explain. "You get better visuals, and more additional content with the Wii U version of any game compared to the other console version. But this will only happen as long as a developer or publisher puts in the time and effort instead of doing a straight port."
The source also reveals that the Wii U has no problem outputting at 1080p. The 360 and PS3, on the other hand, show considerably difficulty rendering at that resolution - in fact, I don't believe the 360 or PS3 has a game with a native 1080p resolution? The source believes that the "definitive version" of either game would be on the PC or Wii U.
But what do you think, Dealspwners? Will the Wii U boast better graphics than the 360 and PS3? Or is Nintendo being very coy with their technical specifications? [Fedwars]
