Resident Evil 6 Dated & Detailed For PC

PS3 & Xbox 360 Versions Getting Another Free Update

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 6 will be making its way to Steam on March 22nd 2013, packing a few new features to take advantage of the PC platform. We've got the details - including minspecs and a new console update - below.

The retail and digital PC editions contain "all the content found in the original console release plus receive any additions contained in any free title updates such as Ada Wong’s campaign being accessible from the outset and the challenging No Hope difficulty mode."

The digital Steam version also comes with a few extra additions:

  • Cloud saving
  • Steam Achievements
  • Friends support
  • Game overlay
  • Leaderboards

Minimum specs

  • OS: Windows Vista®/XP, Windows 7, Windows 8
  • Processor: Intel® CoreTM2 Duo 2.4 Ghz or better, AMD AthlonTM X2 2.8 Ghz or better
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 16 GB free hard drive space
  • Video Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800GTS or better
  • DirectX®: 9.0c or greater
  • Sound: Standard audio device

  • Processor: Intel® CoreTM 2 Quad 2.7 Ghz or better, AMD PhenomTM II X4 3 Ghz or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM

  • DirectX®: 9.0c or greater

PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will receive a free update on January 22nd, including improvements to the Agent Hunt mode, difficulty adjustments and tweaked difficulty in certain sections.

Agent Hunt Mode

  • Available without having to complete a campaign
  • Selectable criteria for joining a session

o    Stage selection

o    Region selection

o    Players can determine whether to join a session based on campaign player’s settings such as infinite ammo or friendly fire setting

Stage selection

  • Individual stages within chapters can be accessed at any time once completed

General

  • QTE assist

o    QTE assist is currently part of the Amateur difficulty level, and automatically completes QTEs for the player. With this update, players can optionally activate QTE assist on any difficulty level.

  • Adjustments

o    Some sections of the game have had their difficulty adjusted to provide an improved experience

Though we felt that Resident Evil 6 definitely wasn't the survival horror experience the fanbase wanted, we described it as a "smart cooperative shooter with an extraordinary amount of raw content" in our 7/10 review. Will you be looking to buy it on PC?
