Respawn Entertainment has reiterated that Titanfall is a lifetime Xbox 360 and Xbox One console exclusive (barring the PC version), but their deal with Microsoft only covers a single game.
Ex-Infinity Ward creative director and Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella delivered the news via twitter, responding to a fan who asked whether they'd eventually make PS4 games. "Of course we will," he replied, "just not the first Titanfall." The wording (especially "first") is suggestive.
EA officially backed this up in the latest financial report and Q&A session, confirming PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One exclusivity for “the life of the product." According to Zampella, this is a relatively new development, and the game was originally supposed to be a timed exclusive as far as the development team knew. "Always MS exclusive at launch, great partner and focus is good for a startup," he tweeted. "EA made a deal for the rest, we only found out recently." [via VG247]
Matt described Titanfall as "thrillingly, beautifully frenetic fun" in our hands-on preview - and it's certainly one of the most impressive-looking next generation titles on the slate. EA recently confirmed a March 2014 release date.
