The Creative Strategist on Call of Duty has left the building. Robert Bowling announced yesterday via Twitter that he would be stepping down from his role at Infinity Ward and leaving Activision.
"Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty," said Bowling, "as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision."
Though Bowling made no official announcements following the statement, Activision have since responded with a glowing testimonial.
"We sincerely thank Robert for his many years of service," wrote the publisher. "He’s been a trusted and valued member of the Infinity Ward team. We wish him all the best on his decision to pursue future opportunities."
Bowling rather became the lead public face of Activision's blockbuster FPS in the wake of the West/Zampella furore, though he has long-enjoyed popularity amongst the fanbase, known to most, no doubt, by his online handle "FourTwoZero".
We wish him all the best for the future, and it'll be most interesting to see where he pops up next.
