Now this is happening. Perhaps spurred into action by a recent flurry of leaks, Rockstar has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will release in "Spring 2013" for PS3 and Xbox 360. However, a PC version is still up in the air.
"Grand Theft Auto V builds on everything we've learned about open world game design," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "We can’t wait to share it with fans."
Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V promises to be "the largest and most ambitious title in the series to date." Set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and the surrounding area, it will deliver "a world of unprecedented scale and detail bursting with life, from mountaintops to the depths of the ocean." So, submarines?
Pre-orders open on November 5th.
It's interesting that the latest statement doesn't mention the PC version. We'll keep an eye out for future announcements, and have reached out to Rockstar for comment.
UPDATE: A Rockstar representative told Dealspwn that, "apologies, we haven't got any comment to make past what was mentioned in the press release at the moment."
