Rumour: Fallout 4 To Be Set In Boston?

This weekend's biggest rumour claims that the as-yet unannounced Fallout 4 will be set in Boston.

As is so often the case, an anonymous whistleblower broke the story on Reddit, backing up some rumours that have been circulating over the past two months. “The rumors are true, Fallout 4 will take place in Boston. In case you haven’t heard, Bethesda has recently been scoping out and researching Boston. They also have a strong connection to MIT. I may or may not be an MIT employee. But that’s really all I can say for fear of losing my job.”

“Apologies for the vagueness of this post," added the source. "It’s not just my job that worries me, but also getting the f**k sued out of me. Bethesda’s contracts are basically full-proof [sic] so if they were to discover who I am, or rather, who I got this information from, a few people including myself could get into a lot of trouble.”

Another Reddit post fuelled the flames: “I’ve been hearing reports from people in the Boston area, where my fellow Fallout-obsessed brother lives, that Bethesda has been in the Boston area doing initial research for Fallout 4. It’s highly speculative, but the main rumors surround Bethesda’s connection to “The Institute”, or what we call the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or M.I.T.”

This would fit in nicely with series lore, which has frequently referenced a high-tech government known as The Commonwealth who reside in the Massachusetts area. M.I.T. (the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) has become the mysterious Institute, who deal in the research and development of androids (two of whom you'll meet in Fallout 3's Rivet City along with cybernetics researcher Dr. Zimmer). Naturally Bethesda has refused to comment, but we'll keep you posted.

If I have that info, I would not have risked my job to leak it.

Lets face it, it could be set anywhere in the frickin world and would still look exactly the same, post-apocalyptic stylee.
