Bit of an odd one, this. A few people have nodded towards the possibility of Junction Point, the studio behind the Epic Mickey series, nearing closure, although wires have been crossed and sources tangled, creating the rumour mill equivalent of the chicken and the egg.
The first sign of this came from Roberts Space Industries of all group, issuing a tribute on their Twitter stream: “Second 21 gun salute for a studio in seven days. Fare-the-well Junction Point. We hope that you all find new studios soon."
However, this missive was soon deleted and replaced with a correction, highlighting MyNintendoNews as the source for their tribute.
Confusingly, the article in question points back towards RSI as their own source. It's a bit of a cyclical mess. However, considering the lacklustre reaction to Epic Mickey 2 - both critically and commercially - and Disney's new Infinity initiative, it's highly possible that Junction Point might be realigned elsewhere or potentially let go.
That's pure speculation for the moment, though, and we've contacted Disney to try and uncover the truth.
