Could Nintendo be working on a double-barrelled helping of Zelda goodness for the 3DS? Well, it's quite possible. There've been one or two rumblings about it, most notably towards the end of last year, and a new image has popped up on 4chan with what appears to hold two logo shots for a couple of new games.
The image, which you can see above, carries Japanese subtitles (火をプロフェシー and アイスをプロフェシー ) which translate as Fire Prophecy and Ice Prophecy, respectively.
Producer Eiji Aonuma revealed back in November last year that development had already begun on a new Zelda title, and it wouldn't be a direct sequel to either Spirit Tracks or Phantom Hourglass.
"We are already preparing a new game, a game in the series for the Nintendo 3DS, but don't think that it is a direct sequel to the Zelda titles released on DS. We are talking about a new game, but it takes much of what has been done on previous handhelds."
As ScrewAttack noted, it's not impossible that Nintendo are planning a double drop similar to that of Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages on the Game Boy Colour. However, naturally the image above should be taken with a certain amount of scepticism, though it'll be interesting to see what awaits us this year at E3.
