Big-handed people rejoice!  According to a CVG source, the extensive prototyping for the controller for Sony's next-gen console has led to "numerous iterations" being tried and tested, with few of them resembling the traditional DualShock build that has been the standard for three generations. 

According to the report, "a senior games studio source" revealed that "versions of the new PS4 pad include biometric sensors on the grips and an LCD touch screen".

The latter point was corroborated in part by a second source, "working in a separate part of the industry but still connected to Sony", who said that said PlayStation engineers are "trying to emulate the same user interface philosophies as the PS Vita", possibly pointing towards a supplemental touch interface, and bringing Sony's home and portable console interests closer together.

Finally, the report suggested that Orbis (the in-house codename for the new console) will be "revealed in a matter of weeks, not months."
