GameTrailers’ editor-in-chief, Shane Satterfield has revealed that sources have told him Nintendo's upcoming console - the Wii U - will retail for around $299 when it emerges later this year.
"We’re going to assume that the Wii U is going to cost $299,” said Satterfield in the latest episode of Invisible Walls. “And I have heard through certain channels that that is likely going to be the price of the system.”
Nintendo, of course, are remaining adamantly tight-lipped about the price of the Wii U and its games, rubbishing some of the speculative prices of online retailers.
Considering that most retailers tend to ignore that thing known as "the exchange rate", if this price is remotely accurate, I wouldn't hold your breath for that sub-£200 price we're all dreaming of.
