Run!! The Hardest Game in Existence

From Running to Little Big Planet: News Roundup 29th July

According to flytrap games online game Run!! Is a more than just hard.   They believe the game “has travelled right through what we normally class as "hard" and into some crazed Platonic realm of ultimate hardness”.   It’s seems flapping your arms around until you take off and fly seems easier to these guys than playing this game.

The main thing that happens if you try this game is you will die, a lot.  The aim of the game is simple, hold down the “A” key to run, and avoid stuff…and that’s pretty much it!  Good timing is essential for success, so give it a go if you think you’ve got it.  [FlyTrap]

Gearbox President Terrified Of Releasing Borderlands

From Running to Little Big Planet: News Roundup 29th July

GearBox president Randy Pitchford recently expressed his concerns and downright fear in releasing Borderlands in today’s gaming climate.  With Halo ODST and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 likely to dominate this holiday season, releasing a new and original IP sounds like a daunting prospect.   “When people take risks and it's not rewarded, in the case of Mirror's Edge, it makes it harder for others to be comfortable taking risks” said Pitchford.

Yeah, I'm terrified. And [Borderlands is] an original brand, too, so it's even more risky”.  Although Pitchford remains positive the game could succeed saying “There are those of us that play everything and we're begging for fresh stuff, so I'm hoping that helps.  And if it's good, it'll get noticed”.  [1UP]

Infinity Ward Blackmailed For Free Games

From Running to Little Big Planet: News Roundup 29th July

Modern Warfare 2 isn’t even out yet, but a forward thinking group has deviously planned to blackmail Activision on their domain modernwarfare4.com.  ZiiP Gaming Community own the domain, and has left a message to Activision regarding their demands.

If you are reading this, you may well be the web administrator for Infinity Ward. If you are, there is a chance that you may well require this domain. Don't worry, you can have it - in exchange for a little 'good will gesture' for the little gaming community that owns this domain and has been playing your games for years. What we'd like is a copy of the game that this domain would be used for, - one copy for each and every member of our gaming community”.

The plan may be along way off from fruition, probably about four years, but if it ever happened it would mean a free copy of the game for all 62 current members of the website.   Activision has not commented yet and probably don’t negotiate with terrorists[Spong]

Little Big Plant to Get More Creation Tools

From Running to Little Big Planet: News Roundup 29th July

Little Big Planet has pretty solid level creation tools, but Media Molecule has confirmed thy want to take them even further in the next batch of DLC.   “A lot of our DLC so far has been based around expanding our palletes, if you like; more costumes, more stickers, and things like this” said co-founder Mark Healy.   “A big part of what's coming in the future expands on what's possible in Little Big Planet in terms of it being a creation tool”.  When this will be made available is unclear, but couldn’t be too far off.  [VG247]
