"Bam. Tit Job."
Croteam and Devolver Digital have been working on Serious Sam 3: BFE for nearly a decade now, but details have been thin on the ground since a few humorous screenshots several months ago. However, new screens and details have finally hit along with official confirmation that the title's set for a summer release. Hit the jump for more details!
Serious Sam 3: BFE will serve as a prequel to the original First Enounter (suggesting that its acronym might well stand for "Battle For Earth" or "Before First Encounter"), chronicling humanity's final battle against MENTAL's hellish legions before sending the titular protagonist back to ancient Egypt. As you can tell, the tongue-in-cheek storyline will be back in full force... but ostensibly with a new grittier direction this time around. The screenshots speak for themselves.
Confirmed features include the massive outdoor arenas that we know and love from the series, pitting your reflexes and firepower against hundreds-strong enemy hordes. The First and Second Encounters make Bulletstorm feel like a walk in the park, so we have high hopes for this one. 16-player multiplayer, beast hunt mode and new melee attacks will also be making an appearance.
Serious Sam 3 is about pure fun and unfiltered action. We wanted to expand on everything gamers love about the series while adding some genuinely unique new features to really enhance the mayhem Serious Sam is known for. - Davor Hunski, Croteam's Chief Creative Officer
Devolver Digital's Fork Parker also chimed in to announce that the dev team are "going to make a boatload of cash off this game," and that the proceeds will be used to fund gratuitous cosmetic surgery.
I mean that's what this is all about, right? If this thing comes out in the summer my wife is totally getting the tit job she's been asking for. Bam. Tit job.
Bam indeed. We'll soon be able to bring you an interview with Croteam themselves, and we'll keep you posted.
