New Trailer & Enemy Chart Shows Off Retro Scale
“Serious Sam: The Random Encounter is the greatest Serious Sam RPG to ever come out of the Netherlands. Maybe even the world. Quote me.” - Fork Parker, Devolver Digital CFO
Devolver Digital's (fictional) public persona is right on the money. Serious Sam: The Random Encounter is the last of the Serious Sam Indie collaborations, and is now available on Steam and Get Games for just over £3 (you can save 50p by using Get Games and registering it on Steam afterwards). It's a retro turn-based RPG that pits you against hordes of foes simultaneously, and we've got the launch trailer and assets below.
We've already rounded up the pertinent details here, but all you really need to know is that Serious Sam: The Random Encounter features over-the-top battles, an explosive arsenal of weapons, and crazy items like Kamikaze Bait and the Serious Bomb. It's set to blow the doors off the world of Dutch-made JRPGs set in Egypt, which is no mean feat.
We've got an enemy chart below to show you the scale of the enemies you'll be facing - click to enlarge.
The Random Encounter is the last of the indie collaborations, and we'll have a full review for you over the next couple of days. In the meantime, you can check out our take on Serious Sam: Double D here, and see what I made of Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack by drifting over to Mobot.net.
