More Time In Tyria For Pre-Order Customers
ArenaNet have confirmed that the second Beta Weekend for their upcoming MMORPG Guild Wars 2 will be taking place next week. The Event will start 19:00 GMT on June 8th and conclude at 07:00 GMT on June 11th, but the surprising news is that characters made in the previous event have not been deleted, so players can continue their adventures in Tyria and experience higher level content.
In a blog post on the official website, Lead Producer Chris Whiteside thanked fans for their enthusiasm and participation in the beta events so far, as well as reminding them that the hunt for those pesky bugs in the game was still the main reason for these events.
Your participation is even more important when you consider that we take our beta events very seriously in terms of our development strategy. At ArenaNet, “beta event” means exactly that—it’s a development-centric event in which we test our systems, discover new and exciting bugs, and get pivotal feedback from our testers about what is going in the right direction and what isn’t.
Players who reach level 35 or higher will be able to take on the challenges found in the explorable version of Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon for the first time. As I found out at a hands-on press event, it should prove an interesting time for those expecting to walk in and kill everything with ease.
Beta access is available to those who has pre-ordered the game ahead of its release sometime this year, with those eligible being sent an email detailing how to get hold of the client later this week. You can check out the blog post in its entirety here. For those wishing to pre-order directly from ArenaNet you can follow the link here, otherwise you can check out the best prices from online retailers here (although please be aware that not all retailers will be providing beta access.)
