Section 8: Prejudice, the online competitive shoot 'em up from developers TimeGate, has finally announced when it'll be hitting store shelves. Or, to be a little less erroneous and a little more precise, when it'll drop on LIVE and Playstation Network. Xbox owners are in luck, as it'll be plummeting onto their console of choice on April 20th, whereas PC veterans must wait until May 4th, and for Playstation afficianados even longer; summer 2011.
The follow-up to the original Section 8, which featured a strong, innovative online component, Prejudice supports up to 32 players plummeting from orbit, piloting tanks and swooping around in jet-packs. A wave-based, co-operative mode can be enjoyed by four, and even a 5-hour campaign is available for those who want to sink their teeth a little deeper into TimeGate lore.
And if you played the original Section 8, the developers will reward you with a select few goodies. First off, you'll net the Aegis Armor and Reactive Plating for simply having played the original, whereas fans who managed to reach level 25 online can swipe the Ablative Armor upgrade, as well. Furthermore, level 50 vets are rewarded with the coveted Explosive Amplifiers. Ooh, fancy! [Eurogamer]
