Shadowrun Returns Out In June
Shadowrun Returns, the Kickstarted RPG from Harebrained Schemes, has enjoyed a refreshingly punchy dev cycle. It'll release on PC in June, with pre-orders opening later this month.

More details, including the DLC road map, below.

Shadowrun Returns (not to be confused with the totally separate Shadowrun Online) will offer players a 2D turn-based RPG experience based around the popular fantasy-meets-cyberpunk tabletop roleplaying franchise. Available on Steam and as a DRM-free version direct from developers (you'll get both editions, but the latter lacks Editor and Workshop support), pre-orders will open on April 29th ahead of a 'June' release window.

A collector's edition containing extra merch and swag will be retired on April 28th, available solely through the Harebrained Schemes website. This pricey package also includes all future DLC, some of which has been revealed by Harebrained Schemes in their latest update:

  • Berlin Campaign (new campaigns also allow you to build with an expanded set of tiles)
  • Map Packs (new terrain tiles and props for you to use in your own campaigns)
  • All New Shadowrun Stories (created by HBS)
  • Additional Outfits and Portraits for your character

Shadowrun fans are hopefully set for a return to RPG form, and there's nary a multiplayer shooter in sight this time.

I had no idea this was being made, looking forward to it, the Shadowrun game on the SNES was badass.
