If you've stumped up the money and wisely invested in a Wii Fit balance board, you'll likely want to make the most out if it. Bored of the constant stream of vaguely abusive (unbalanced? moi?) advice that Wii Fit keeps throwing your way? Why not try your hand at snowboarding instead of balance boarding! Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip is now £4.99 at Play.com, which will save you £4.50 compared to Powerplay Direct.
The Wii usually receives an ugly, watered down, sketchy port of the big multiplatform titles- but Ubisoft have decided to take the opposite tack with the Shaun White series. Road Trip has been designed for the Wii and Wii Fit balance board from the ground up, compensating for the non-HD graphics with a funky cartoon graphical style and some seriously impressive snowboarding controls.
If you're packing a Wiimote, you'll unsurprisingly manipulate the movements of the board by tilting the controller. It's accurate enough (and handles surprisingly well), but the real flavour comes from setting up the balance board. Sure, you'll lose some pinpoint accuracy- but it's genuinely great fun and one of the most addictive uses of the board so far. Plus, it's as hilarious to watch as it is to step up- God bless the Wii. Just resist the urge to actually jump off the board!
Basically, if you've got a balance board then you could do a lot worse than blowing a fiver on this one.
