Us Brits will be getting not one, but two, localised Shin Megami Tensei games, new publisher Ghostlight has confirmed. Devil Survivor Overclocked will be a 3DS remake of 2009's Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, while its recent sequel will be released on the DS.
The Shin Megami Tensei series focuses on party-building and strengthening the emotional bonds between characters - in the face of an evil website that can predict people's deaths.
Expanded and enhanced, Devil Survivor Overclocked for Nintendo 3DS builds upon the game's original release with the addition of voice acting for the entirety of the game's unconventional narrative. Moreover, that very story, already boasting multiple endings based on critical decisions by the player, now concludes with an exclusive eighth chapter. The 3DS' higher resolution screens plans to offer players a "crisper, higher fidelity experience."
Devil Survivor 2 reportedly improves on the original in practically every department, and we'll hopefully be able to test that out for ourselves this year. No release date has been given yet, but we'll keep an ear to the ground.
