Yep...it's film tie-in time and, predictably, this is a highly average affair. However, to its target demographic - kids whose ages can still be noted in single digits - it's a robust, perfectly adequate interactive accompaniment to the film of the same name.
If you simply can't get enough of the giant green ogre and his motley crew of chums, then you might be interested to know that Gameplay are currently offering both PS3 and X360 versions of the game for £22.99, at least £2 cheaper than anyone else at the time of writing.

I don't like recommending games like this. Film tie-ins are overrun with rushed developmental flaws, generally banal platforming and puzzle mechanics that assume children appreciate simplicity and repetition over inventive, engrossing scenarios. Generally whenever anyone gets defensive on this point I direct their attention towards Travellers Tales deservedly acclaimed LEGO series...you're much better off going there.
But if you, or your child, have your heart set on Shrek then this is still the best price at the moment. There's nothing particularly wrong as such with the game, it's just not that remarkable at all. It's difficult to suggest that anyone other than fans of the film would appreciate this, but that's what you come to expect from tie-ins.
