Gamersgate are running a daily deal on Silent Hunter V, bringing the base game down to the same low price as the GAME group. However, more excitingly, the Collector's Edition will only set you back an extra couple of quid and will save you at least 50% compared to the likes of Gamestation (and about £18 compared to several other digital distribution networks). There's no denying that Silent Hunter V isn't the strongest game in the series, with a few strange mechanical gripes getting sinking the action from time to time, but if you're looking for a submarine sim this deal will net you the original game as well as the official guide and OST. Note that it does contain the infamous "always-on" Ubi DRM, at least according to the product description. Like Lando said: "This deal is getting worse all the time..."
If you fancy pursuing the Allied Forces' vessels in a stealthy German U-boat, walking around its innards and peering above the surface of the ocean with your periscope, then you might want to think about giving this one a go. You can interact with the crew if you want, or you can jump out to a third person view of the sub as it cuts through the sea like a warm knife through butter. Game and Gamestation are parting with copies of the game for £4.99, which is £2 cheaper than the next best offers out there.
