SimCity Amusement Park DLC Out Today

SimCity's first major DLC pack - a selection of theme park rides and facilities - has released today on Origin for £7.99.  Our wholesale disappointment with Maxis' broken simulation is a matter of public record, but if you're interested, we've got a new trailer and details after the break.

I can't help but feel that our city limits should be a bit bigger to fit all this new stuff in. I wonder if anyone's pointed that out before...?

GAME FEATURES:

  • Park Entrances: Three entrances to choose from: Funshine Park Entrance, Wheels of Wonder Park Entrance and Thrilland Park Entrance.
  • Classic Amusement Park Rides: both young and young at heart Sims will enjoy classics like the Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Swings Ride.
  • Vehicle Rides: speed demons and imaginary astronauts alike will find rides to enjoy with the Mini-Train Station, Go-Kart Speedway and Astro-Twirl Rocket Ride.
  • Thrill Rides: please the thrill-seekers with the Bigfoot Roller Coaster, Dizzy Drop Tower or Bluebeard's Pirate Ship.

Considering how many problems there were... BIG problems at that... I am very surprised to see such a random DLC out so early in the games life.

Oh wait... EA... no I'm not.

Anyone played it? Any good?
If this is just a couple of re-skinned money making buildings you plop down and forget about then I'm not interested.
But if they've gone anyway towards providing a Theme Park sub game then I'm in for that price!

I happen to like the base game myself. I'd love bigger cities but I'm not sure its relevant here? It's been a while since I was at Alton Towers but I don't recall it being in a city centre. Surely this would just go into an empty city area in your region for tourists with a small town to support it - providing workers etc?

Yep, just pretend that nothing ever happened and release crappy DLC instead of resolving the major issues with this game.

@/0: Shocker, I know.

@hukd5: I doubt that we'll be reviewing this. RE the city size limits: I absolutely admit to doing a bit of troll... I mean... stirring there, but I'm sure some people will want to try and incorporate some of these facilities into more complex cities.

EDIT: If anyone does play this, do let our readers (and us) know what you make of it @ http://www.dealspwn.com/simcity

@Goonies: Sounds like a plan. That said, Maxis have been patching like crazy, though some of these updates have introduced exciting new issues...
