Following years of DLC packs, EA have officially announced an all-new The Sims title for 2014.
Yes, you will be able to play it offline. I wonder why EA explicitly mentioned that?
The Sims 4 will offer a "single-player offline experience" that purports to be the "most expressive, surprising and charming Sims ever." Emotionally connecting with your virtual pals will be the aim of the game this time around, though we assume that standard operating procedure of locking them in a room with no toilets will still be the main draw. Despite the offline gameplay, however, a suite of "intuitive" tools will allow players to personalise the experience and share user-created content with the community.
"The Sims franchise is fueled by the passion and creativity of its millions of fans around the world," gushes Maxis. "Their continued devotion to the franchise ignites the fire of creativity of the team at The Sims Studio, driving them to continually improve and innovate on one of the world’s most popular simulation games that has sold more than 150 million copies worldwide."
We'll presumably see more of The Sims 4 in summer ahead of its launch some time next year on PC and Mac.
