Skulls Of The Shogun Finally Gets A Release Date

Three Years Of Development Pays Off In A Fortnight

After being in development for what seems like forever, indie strategy game Skulls Of The Shogun has passed Microsoft certification and garnered itself a firm release date on XBLA, PC, Surface and Windows phones. In fact, we're getting it sooner than you'd think...

Skulls Of The Shogun will launch on January 30th worldwide, across practically all Microsoft devices with a screen. The XBLA version will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, the Windows 8 app will debut $14.99 and the Windows Phone edition will roll out at $6.99 (UK pricing TBA).

In terms of gameplay, Skulls Of The Shogun presents an accessible turn-based strategy game that takes its cues from chess and Japanese mythology, wrapping it up in a gorgeous cartoon art style.

“After three and a half years, Skulls of the Shogun is finally ready to be released,” said 17-BIT Founder and CEO, Jake Kazdal. “We’re ecstatic we could bring Skulls to all four of Microsoft’s platforms, and bring them all together with cross-platform functionality. We appreciate the excitement and patience by all the Skulls of the Shogun fans, and we here at 17-BIT believe the wait will be well worth it.”

We'll have a full review for you nearer the time.

Oh dear, no steam version?. Windows 8 only?.. Great way to limit your sales!
