Modern Warfare 4 Takes Aim At Current-Gen Consoles?
Sledgehammer Games, the Activision-owned studio who assisted with Modern Warfare 3 development and created a prototype for a Call Of Duty tie-in, is hiring for a new Call Of Duty title slated for PS3 and Xbox 360.
The job wanted ad, posted on Gamasutra and spotted by NowGamer, seeks "top talent for our Call of Duty development team" who'll need "a desire to work on the most successful FPS franchise in the history of video games." The applicant will have to "insure that the level works on all relevant platforms, Xbox 360, PS3."
Since Sledgehammer worked closely with Infinity Ward in developing Modern Warfare 3, we can surmise that the project in question is probably the next Modern Warfare game (heavily rumoured to be Modern Warfare 4). Given the platform-specific requirements, we can also infer that the sequel is in development for current-generation hardware, or will release on both next console generations if new hardware is available by next Christmas.
Or perhaps the Dead Space-esque spinoff is back on track? As always, we'll have to wait and see.
Yes, it is a slow news day. How could you tell?
