Final Push In Kickstarter Campaign

We’ve got yet another Kickstarter project to put in your face, although it's a little different to the ones we’ve previously featured on the site. Norwegian developers Krillbite Studios are currently seeking pledges for their upcoming First Person survival horror title Among The Sleep, and with just over 3 days left the team have decided to release a playable alpha build of their work this evening. The hope is that last minute interest will bring in the (at the time of writing) $12,000 needed to reach the intended target of $200,000 and beyond, with optimisation for the Oculus Rift being one of the first stretch goals.

You can see what the game all about by viewing the video above, but here’s a quick summary – Among The Sleep is a First Person survival horror game that puts the player in the onesie of a child who wakes up in the middle of the night, alone and with something rather bad chasing after them. It’s up to the player to escape the danger whilst solving puzzles, but all from the perspective of a toddler. The ultimate aim is “to tell a compelling story both through an interesting storyline and through metaphor, relating to what actually evokes this fear and confusion in the child.”

Although the team has already implemented support for the Rift, the team have stated that they need additional funding to fine tuning the peripheral for the game as well as “exploring some amazing possibilities with the technology.” You can see their test video for the Rift below.

We’ll be sure to bring you some hands-on impressions with the alpha build as soon as we can, but if you fancy trying it out for yourself (or wish to learn more about the game) be sure to check out the Kickstarter page from 7pm today to get hold of the client.
