Oh Activision, how you must be kicking yourself right now. The publishing giants dropped the game when it was known as True Crime: Hong Kong; leaving Square-Enix to swoop in, nurse it back to health to become the biggest game of the Summer that's spent two of the last three weeks on the Number 1 spot. Playing as an undercover cop means you get to have fun on both sides of the law in this refreshing take on the open-world crime genre. Crazy violent brawling with context sensitive executions, on foot chases, white-knuckle driving sections and a beautifully realised Hong Kong setting left us saying Grand Theft who?

Loved it...especially as a frequent visitor to Hong Kong (especially Lan Kwai Fong which is pretty similar to how my alcohol-fueled brain remembers it).

Activision really did drop the ball on this.

My only criticism that it was a bit short but given the developments issues, etc it was probably to be expected.

So much potential for a sequel.

Will be fifteen quid before you know it. And then I'm in.

It quickly became apparent this was going to crash pretty quickly (mainly because people could complete it quickly then have no more use for it) so I've been happy to swerve it - for now. Definitely looking forward to getting it soon, though.

(Don't think I have the willpower/patience to wait for the GOTY edition, though!)

Now £22.91 at Tesco, btw.
