SOMA: Frictional Games Tease Their New Game In Creepy Trailers

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs developer Frictional Games are hard at work on their latest title, a mysterious affair known only as "SOMA." Let the teasing begin.

The official site gives little away, instead gradually unlocking some bizarre live action videos involving advanced robotics and classified research projects. It looks seriously creepy and steeped with atmosphere, whatever it is. We've embedded the two currently-released videos below, though beware some salty language if you're at work.

As far as we know, Frictional Games are developing SOMA for PS4 with no PC release planned as-yet. UPDATE: Platforms have not been confirmed, though Sony Europe has tweeted about the project, suggesting that it's likely to hit a PlayStation platform. We'll naturally keep you posted once we learn the first concrete thing about it.

How to make yourself look epically stupid in two easy steps

1) call somebody a dumbass, and tell them to get their facts right.
2) in the same sentence, get your facts wrong.

Soma is believed to be PS4 exclusive and there is absolutely zero evidence to suggest otherwise.

Moron.

That's some mighty fine game journalism right there.

There is NO evidence to suggest that this game is a PS4 exclusive. If it turns out that it IS a PS4 exclusive it won't be a sign of DealSpwn's prescience, it will be a lucky guess. If you actually had any evidence of this you'd have included it in your article.

"As far as we know, Frictional Games are developing SOMA as a PS4 exclusive with no PC release planned as-yet."

As far as *I* know, a big-titted brunette with low self-esteem is planning to walk through my door any minute now and rub her freshly-oiled ass in my face.

Try to contact Frictional for a comment, rather than making blind assumptions. You know, like a journalist would do?

@Anarchist: "Soma is believed to be PS4 exclusive and there is absolutely zero evidence to suggest otherwise." Believed by whom? Based on what? The only "evidence" of exclusivity is this article, which is based on nothing.

Information is intentionally thin on the ground so far, but we CAN safely surmise that SOMA is being developed for a PlayStation platform, most likely the PS4. Sony have been mentioning if not outright teasing the project, including this latest suggestive tweet here.

However, you're right, the absence of PC confirmation doesn't mean that SOMA won't release on the platform.

I've reworded the article to make this clear. Thanks for your input.

so·ma
/ˈsōmə/
Noun

An intoxicating drink prepared from a plant and used in Vedic ritual, believed to be the drink of the gods.

If that's the thought's behind the use of the name, then this should be very interesting.
